Adult VaccinationSession 1: The Modern Anti-Vaccine Movement will examine points in history that influenced vaccine confidence and explore current trends in vaccine hesitancy, misinformation and other influences. The session will explore ways to build strategies to increase vaccine confidence and provide communication strategies for patient interaction.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Describe 20th century events which influenced the anti-vaccine movement
- Identify the historical roots of 21st century societal trends which are strengthening the anti-vaccine movement
- Develop strategies to promote confidence in vaccines using the above
Speakers
President, Kentucky Medical Association and Pediatric Hospitalist
Dr. Kuduk is originally from Northern New Jersey, but please don’t hold that against him. He went to college at the Johns Hopkins University (“the” is not just for Buckeye fans) and medical school in beautiful downtown Newark at the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He did his residency at Texas Children’s Hospital, and was in single-specialty and multi-specialty group practice for six years. In 1998, he moved to Winchester, Kentucky to open a solo practice which he operated successfully for nineteen years. He has decided to focus on medical education in the latter part of his career, and is currently employed as a pediatric hospitalist at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. He is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine.
